This is about you.

Students,
I can't tell you how excited I am for this new school year. Every year brings a refreshing opportunity for us to capitalize once again on our strengths as learners and tackle those areas that we are looking to improve.

From Day 1 I want you to know that this class is about you. It is your future, not mine, that lies in your hands. I have one of the best jobs in the world because everyday I get to be on that journey with you. But at the end of the day this is about you, and not me.

I can't wait to learn about the History of our country this year. There are so many fascinating things that have happened that we all can relate to and really learn from. We will study all of this in hopes of developing an understanding of how our History can propel us towards our future.

But to start I want to say that you all have a story, a History that not only involves you but many people. This history can be used to impact others in very positive ways. So to start out I would like everyone to write about who they are, and why they are that person. I encourage everyone to engage in the conversation and we will have our first History lesson, only it will be about you!

Simply post below, and feel free to make comments like "Thats cool!" or "That trip sounds awesome that you took in third grade, what did you eat in Italy?". I want you all to learn from each other.

Number one rule in this class will be that you have Respect from me right away, I just ask that you give that to everyone else as well. Make sure you keep that in mind for this discussion.
